“In 2007 I lived in Hamburg and ever since I deeply fell in love with it. Coming back feels like meeting an old sailor friend with a blue white striped shirt, arms full of tattoos and exciting stories to tell. My heart danced while wandering around HafenCity the other day, living only a few meters away from where I used to work.” – Tanja
The 25 Hours Hotel Hafencity draws from the area’s rich maritime history in a radical re-imagining of a traditional seamen’s club, complete with 170 cabin-style suites, a rooftop sauna, Heimat restaurant, bar, art gallery, private wharf, and a conference room housed in a repurposed shipping container.
NECTAR & PULSE BEST OF:
THE ROOMS & STORY > Elements and materials from the shipbuilding industry are interpreted with a little wink, and spun together with some seaman’s yarns; 25 mariners from across the world tell their true stories of dangerous passages, romantic encounters, wild storms and painful farewells. The rooms’ anecdotic accessories and objects capture the adventures, which are told in full length in each of the lodge’s logbooks.
SAUNA > Even the strongest sea dogs and wild pirate brides need a little relaxation sometimes. The Harbor Sauna on the top floor even has an exit onto the roof to cool off and enjoy a view of HafenCity. Enjoy a typical Astra beer.
CLUB ROOM > Listen to some vinyl, have a cup of tea and play tablesoccer.
KIOSK > Buy some fresh magazines or books like: “Atlas der abgelegenen Inseln.”
